The Education Debt Consumer Assistance Program
A program of the Community Service Society of New York (CSS), is funded by New York State to assist New Yorkers struggling with student debt.
Through their statewide network of advocates, EDCAP helps borrowers navigate the student loan repayment system, regain financial health, and serves as a one-stop resource for both federal and private student loan borrowers. EDCAP's services are completely free and confidential.
WNYLC is a member of the EDCAP network, we can assist borrowers to:
Determine their best repayment plan and create a strategy to tackle their student debt.
Navigate solutions for delinquent or defaulted student loans to precent wage garnishments, social security offsets, and tax intercepts.
Determine eligibility for loan forgiveness programs such as Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), Income Driven Repayment Forgiveness (IDRF), and Total and Permanent Disability Discharge (TPD).
Learn about deferment and forbearance.
Resolve issues with loan services and lenders.
