Building Black Business: SBLC’s Role in Buffalo’s East Side Revival

The Small Business Legal Clinic is deeply rooted in the community, working year-round with aspiring entrepreneurs. But in honor of Black in Business Month, we're spotlighting our partner organizations driving the East Side Revitalization project and the vital role they play in supporting Black-owned businesses.

The Exchange at Beverly Gray is a BIPOC business incubator offering workshops, classes, drop-in legal clinics (that’s us!), and community events designed to connect entrepreneurs with resources and each other.

The Foundry is a makerspace equipped with woodworking, metalworking, textile, and tech labs plus youth programming and instructional classes for all skill levels.

Intersect Buffalo runs IC Success and IC Growth, two free year-long initiatives that incubate and accelerate businesses led by entrepreneurs from historically underserved communities.

SBLC works alongside each of these organizations, whether through drop-in clinics or regular consulting hours to ensure entrepreneurs have the legal support they need to thrive.

Buffalo's business support ecosystem is powerful; if you know where to look. These incubators and accelerators are more than workspaces; they're launch pads for generational wealth and community growth. We're proud to stand with them in building up Black entrepreneurs.
