388.2 Social services district participation.
(a) A social services district's participation in the food assistance
program is optional. Social services districts electing to operate a food assistance
program are authorized to do so in accordance with the requirements of this Part. Social
services districts which choose to participate in the food assistance program must provide
written notification to the office. The notification must include a statement whereby the
district agrees to operate a food assistance program in accordance with federal and State
statutory, regulatory and policy requirements. A district may choose to participate in the
food assistance program at any time by providing such notice. Whenever possible, such
notice must include an estimate of the number of persons in the district who may be
eligible to participate in the food assistance program and any other information requested
by the office.
(b) A social services district may withdraw from participation in the
food assistance program by providing written notification to the office at least 30 days
prior to terminating the program in such district. Notice must be provided to food
assistance recipients in accordance with Part 358 of this Title.
