The Affordable Care Act Implementation: New Opportunities and New Hurdles for Low-Income Communities in New York City

As the first open enrollment season in the New York State Health Benefit Exchange (NYHBE) looms closer (starting on October 1, 2013), there has been extensive press and community education regarding the ACA's viability and implementation on a national and state level.  The attached materials outline some of the implications of the upcoming local implementation of ACA.

The materials introduce the New York State of Health, provide information about stakeholders and the premium subsidy and Cost Sharing Reduction programsprovide an ACA implementation timeline, and summarize some of the tax consequences of the individual mandate
